  Burdensome building codes discourage all but high profit buildings. This leads to over-sized homes and giant developments that rely on subsidies. Using only safety related codes would enable new construction to better meet the needs of the vast majority of Granite Staters. It would also enable replacement of very inefficient older poorly maintained structures in a way that provides affordable housing.
